Frequently Asked Questions on Digital Photo Frames

Q: If my unit is defective what do I do?

A: Make sure your product is registered then contact Technical Support at 888-849-0846, if the problem cannot be resolved instructions as well as a Return Authorization will be issued for your defective product. No product will be accepted without prior authorization.

Q: My digital photo frame supports AV (Video) output, what is that?

A: Your frame can be connected to a television in order to display photos on the TV rather than the digital frame.

Q: How do I connect the Digital Photo Frame to my TV? (For model with AV output only)

A: AV OUT: To display photos on the TV, you may insert the included TV cable into the TV's AV interfaces (usually yellow, red and white) to connect the Digital Photo Frame to your TV. Turn off both the frame and the TV before connecting them to each other. Once connected, make sure that your TV settings are correct (usually labeled AV, Video or AUX).
AV IN-for N8-101: You may insert the AV cable into the TV/DVD or VCD’s AV interfaces (usually yellow, red and white) to connect the Digital Photo Frame. Then you can display audio or video on the Digital Photo Frame. Turn off both the frame and the TV before connecting them to each other.

Q: Does it play all types of AVI video files? (For model with Video function only)

A: Not all AVI format video files will be supported.

Q: How do I play video files? (For model with Video function only)

A: The Digital Photo Frame is compatible with MPEG-1 and AVI* file types. Make sure these files are stored in your memory card (please read the Q&A section for more information):
1. Press the Right and Left arrow buttons to select "Video", then press the Enter button, or simply press the Movie button on the remote control to confirm the selection. *Not all AVI format video files will be supported.
2. Press the arrow buttons to select the video file you want to play, then press the Enter button to confirm your selection.
3. Press the VOL+ or VOL- buttons to adjust the volume.
4. Press the FWD or REV buttons on the remote control to fast forward or reverse the track.
5. Press the Up or Down arrow buttons or Prev/Next buttons to select the previous or next video file, respectively.

Q: How do I clean the LCD screen?

A: Please do the following step by step:
1.Wipe the screen gently. The screen is made of glass and may be easily scratched or broken.
2.To clean fingerprints and dust from the LCD screen, a soft non-abrasive cloth such as a camera lens cleaning cloth is recommended.
3.Do not apply cleaning liquid directly to the LCD screen if using LCD screen cleaning kits available at retail outlets. Moisten the cleaning cloth with the cleaning solution, then wipe the LCD screen with the damp cloth.

Q: Is my Digital Photo Frame (DPF) compatible with windows Vista?

A: Please see the following DPF models that are compatible with Windows Vista:
1) N1-101 / N1-505 / N1-508 / N1-510 / N1-511 / N1-517 / N1-519
Note: compatible with version of 32 bit Vista, but for version of 64 bit Vista it can't run with SP1.
2) N3-506 / N3-509 / N3-511

Q: How do I insert memory cards?

A: Please make sure your memory card is one of the following compatible memory cards: Secure Digital (SD), Multimedia Card (MMC), Memory Stick, and Memory Stick Pro (MS Pro). Then insert the memory card with its label facing up. Note: Do not try to force a memory card into the slot.

Q: How do I Install and replace remote control battery?

A: Please do the following step by step:
1. Hold the remote control with the buttons facing downward.
2. Hold the remote control cover with one hand and use the other hand to pull the battery tray out of the remote control cover.
3. Put a "CR2025" lithium battery into the battery tray with the positive "+" side facing up.
4. Push the battery tray back in.

Q: How do I set the clock?

A: Please do the following step by step.
1. Set the local time and calendar
2. Press the Up and Down arrow keys to select functions.
3. Press the Right and Left arrow keys to select desired settings.
4. Press the Enter key to confirm settings.

Q: How do I Play MP3 files?—for N7-105

A: Please ensure that there are MP3 music files on your memory card (please read the Q&A section for more information). Note: While pictures are being displayed, press the Back Music button once to hear the MP3 files as background music.
1. Press the Right and Left arrow buttons on the remote control to select "Music" and then press the Enter or Music button on the remote control.
2. Press the directional buttons to select the music file you want. Then press the Enter button to confirm your selection.
3. Press the VOL+ or VOL ?buttons to adjust the volume.
4. Press the FWD and REV buttons on the remote control to fast forward or reverse the track.
5. Press the Up or Down arrow buttons or Prev/Next buttons to select the previous or next music file, respectively.

Q: The Digital Photo Frame is compatible with photo, music, and video files in which formats?

A: Photo: JPEG; Music: MP3; Video: MPEG-1 and AVI*.

Q: What kinds of memory cards are compatible with the Digital Photo Frame?

A: Secure Digital (SD), Multimedia Card (MMC), Smart Media Card (SM), Memory Stick (MS), and Memory Stick Pro (MS Pro).

Q: How can I get MP3 music files?

A: Use your personal computer and audio editing software to convert your music to MP3 format.Click Here for more information. Transfer the MP3 file to the memory card by using a memory card reader.

Q: Is the Digital Photo Frame equipped with built-in memory? ?(for large DPF, screen size large than 5 inches)

A: NO. There is no built-in memory in the Digital Photo Frame. All files must be stored on and read from the Memory Card or USB Drive.

Q: Can I insert several memory cards into the Digital Photo Frame? ?for large DPF

A: No. You can only insert one memory card into the Digital Photo Frame at one time.

Q: Can the device play MPEG-1 files stored on a memory card?

A: The device can play MPEG-1 video files stored on a compatible memory card.

Q: Can I rotate the picture displaying on the screen for better viewing?

A: Yes, press the arrow buttons on the remote control to rotate a picture to certain angles. Note: The rotated picture will return to its original status once you turn off the Digital Photo Frame.

Q: Can I adjust the color of the pictures?

A: No. Most color settings are preset by the manufacturer. You can only adjust brightness and contrast.

Q: Why is the picture too dark?

A: The brightness may be turned down, please adjust the brightness of the LCD.

Q: The pictures are slightly distorted to fit the frame. Why?

A: The file size of the photos you loaded are bigger than the optimal size. Compress your photos.

Q: Why does the remote control for the unit not work?

A: Please check if batteries of your remote are weak, or the direction of your batteries is incorrect, and that you have correctly aimed the remote control.

Q: Why does the photo viewer have blank, blue screen?

A: The file size of the photos that you loaded are bigger than the optimal size. Compress your photos.

Q: The unit locks on the menu when turning off. Why?

A: Please make sure the Power button of your unit is turned on.

Q: Not all of my photos are being displayed, why?

A: Your digital picture frame is designed to show photos in JPEG format—the same camera industry standard format as digital cameras. Some images, such as web images, scanned images, or photos in RAW format, are not stored in the industry-standard JPEG format and therefore cannot be displayed correctly on the Digital Photo Frame. Please use a photo editing application to convert such images into standard JPEG format before viewing them on your digital photo frame.

Q: Why is the image distorted or not fully displayed?

A: Please make sure the resolution of the displayed image is compatible with the resolution of the digital photo frame.

Q: I plugged in the power supply, but the unit does not turn on.

A: The display equipment may be set to TV output mode. Please press "TV/PC" key, if one is available, to switch modes.

Q: Why doesn’t the remote control work?

A: Please make sure the remote control is pointed to the infrared (IR) sensor of the main unit and that it is used within range of the frame. The IR beam can be reflected to the sensor of the main unit, but it cannot penetrate through walls or turn corners. In addition, you may need to replace the battery. If the problem still persists, then there may be a hardware problem and you may need to repair it or get a new one.

Q. How do I view pictures from a memory card?

A: Insert a memory card into the memory card slot of your frame. The slideshow will automatically switch to display pictures from the card. To browse the pictures on your memory card, press the MENU button, then use the left or right arrow button to highlight the memory card icon.

Q: How do I use my digital photo frame?

A: Start by inserting a memory card or flash drive. The frame accepts a wide variety of the most common memory cards and some can even read from a USB flash drive. You can then adjust settings, such as the speed and style of transition between pictures. In addition, if the digital photo frame has Bluetooth support, you can wirelessly send your photos from your computer, mobile phone or digital camera to the frame.

Q: My Frame will not power on. Why?

A: Please try the following:
1. Make sure that the AC adaptor is properly plugged into the frame and into the wall.
2. Try plugging it into a different electrical outlet.

Q: The frame will not play slideshows. Why?

A: The internal memory of the frame may be corrupted. In order to correct this problem, format the frame’s internal memory.
